The Mill is Arizona’s only Hockey Training Warehouse

OUR MISSION is to provide hockey players of all ages, levels, and teams, a safe facility to develop their hockey skills, while bringing the Arizona hockey community together.

OUR STORY starts back in 2015 when Jarred and Bailey met and instantly connected over their shared interests as they had both been involved in the Arizona hockey community for a variety of years. When they started dating, Jarred was coaching a few local youth teams in The Valley. Eventually the two got married and dreamt of opening their own space for hockey training. This is where The Mill Hockey Training Warehouse was born. For years, Jarred ran extra hockey lessons at odd hours, and the two saved every penny in order to be able to open their own business. After flying all around the country to find the best synthetic ice their dream was starting to come true. With the help of some amazing family, coaching friends, and hockey teammates, they gutted the building, set up the boards, and laid the synthetic ice for what is now The Mill Hockey Training Warehouse.

When you come to The Mill, you’re likely to see our parents helping at the front desk or fixing something back and Penny and Leni running around. The Mill is a family ran business, and we hope when you come you’ll feel like part of our family. We hope to see you at the rink!

This rink is equipped with synthetic ice, full boards, and glass. This rink is a scaled down version of your regular ice hockey rink and perfect for pick-up games and on-ice hockey training.

A designated shooting lane area with synthetic ice and hockey nets. This space is perfect to perfect your shot, work on stick-handing, or have a shooting contest with friends.

Covered in artificial turf, this space is perfect for your workout or off-ice training sessions. We have a variety of strength equipment, plus agility and conditioning equipment to better your game.

Owner and Head Coach

Jarred grew up in Northern California playing for many top tier teams. Through college he played hockey at Arizona State University (ASU), graduating in 2012 with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Media Analysis. As a player, Jarred was a part of the program’s massive growth. His senior season, as an Assistant Captain, the team was top ranked in the Western Region and finished 5th at nationals.

When his playing career was over, Jarred didn’t want to give up the game, and he started coaching multiple youth teams in Arizona including the DYHA Jr. Sun Devils, VOSHA Titans, and the Arizona Kachinas. Jarred is currently the Head Coach for Arizona State University ACHA Div. II men’s ice hockey team.

Having now coached for 12+ years, Jarred has earned a reputation of developing individual skills and preparing players for the highest levels of hockey. Coach Jarred is a Level 4 Certified USA Hockey Coach and excels in teaching skills such as stick handling, shooting, game situations, and power skating to players of all ages ranging from first time players to professional athletes.

Owner and Operations

Raised in Michigan, Bailey is an original rink-rat and spent most of her childhood at ice rinks while her brother played hockey. Eventually her family moved to Arizona where Bailey joined the Arizona Selects Girls Ice Hockey Team. Realizing that her skill set is more geared towards organizing then ice-skating she runs all the operations of The Mill. Bailey has degrees in Business Management and Business Marketing and has been working in sales and customer service for 10+ years.

Penny is a Vizsla that you may see around the rink from time to time. She is very friendly, and her favorite thing to do is jump into hockey bags and play with the kids. She loves attention, and can regularly be found behind the front desk. If you see her around please say hi and give lots of pets.

The Mill works with a number of coaches from all associations in the Phoenix Valley to provide our players with the best experience, and a variety of coaching knowledge. Please check our schedule for full coaching availability.
